Neighborhood block party today, so nervous I nearly didn't go. Of course everyone was gracious to welcome the newcomer. This waterslide was directly outside my front door. Love the sound of happy children.

oh, to live in a neighborhood that HAS block parties. One of the myths of living in the country is that everyone is in and out of one another's kitchen for coffee and etc. We've lived here since 1983 and I can tell you that NONE of the neighbors has ever wanted to borrow anything, etc. I always take over meals and baked goods when people pass on but people in the country are NOT necessarily friendly. I'm not sure why, exactly.
